Tactile Belt
The Tactile Belt™ is an affordable wearable device that allows you to navigate using only touch. The device frees you from requiring to use your eyes as there is no display, all information is conveyed via touch. It is like using Mapquest or Google Maps but not requiring to use your eyes.
The device nudges you towards a destination using intermediate way-points and lets you feel how much further you have to go. The device consists of a patent-pending wearable tactile technology as well as a controller. The controller utilizes proprietary algorithms & hardware that fuse sensory information from a state-of-the-art super-sensitive GPS, self-calibrating inertial sensors, altimeter & magnetometer to provide localization indoors & outdoors. A bluetooth interface permits using another device such as a cell phone as a conduit to the internet.
